OUR AMBASSADORS

A former UFC fighter SOA Palelei, and broadcaster and social justice leader, Graham Mabury OAM, have joined forces as the official ambassadors for the 2023 Rotary Walk Perth for Lifeline WA and Rotary Projects.

"The Rotary Walk for Lifeline WA and Rotary Projects is a Charity Walk. A fundraising initiative by Rotary Canning River proceeds will go towards supporting Lifeline WA in its vital suicide prevention work as well as Rotary Projects to benefit the community.

Lifeline WA’s mission is to prevent suicide, support people in crisis and reduce the stigmas which can be a barrier to people seeking help.

You can walk solo, with a buddy, the family or a group of friends or colleagues. Pets are welcome. It’s a great way to get behind a great cause and experience the mental health benefits that come from exercising and connecting with your community. You may choose a 5km or 10km walk around the beautiful Swan River on Sunday 10 March 2024.

Grab your family, friends or work colleagues and sign up"

"As the inaugural Chairman of Lifeline WA, I have long known that a telephone line can become, quite literally, a lifeline. Thanks to our Telephone Crisis Supporter team, this lifeline is available 24/7, whenever someone needs it most. Because these wonderful people are volunteers, they say to each person who calls, “I am giving you this time, because you are worth it.”

It’s both exciting and rewarding to see another peak body of volunteers give their support to the fight against suicide – the Rotary Club of Canning River. I thank them sincerely for putting on the Walk for Lifeline WA and I’m proud to be a 2022 event ambassador."
